Our Community |
|
Our members come from Ossining, Briarcliff Manor, Mill wood, Pleasantville, Peekskill, Thornwood and Armonk and greater Westchester. They work in their communities, in New York City and throughout the metropolitan area. They bring the presence of God into their families, their lives, their jobs and their communities. They are active in children's centers, housing programs, hunger programs, as fire fighters, in the schools and in municipal government. They work in the arts, business, the school system and health care. They are adults, children and young people, single and married. At our church, we host two AA groups, two Girl Scout troops, the Old Mill Singers singing group and St. Paul’s Steel Band.

God uses people in His world. This is why He heals and saves us to transform us, so that through us, He may love His other children. |

St. Paul’s on-the-Hill A tribute by
Fred Hiemcke, 2/21/91
There’s them that has, and them that have Inner peace or life-sap salve! Forced with judgment, life delusion Solve the pain of life confusion!
Peace within sought from others, Fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers! Words so spent to turn the sod, Though found within, the voice of God!
Though seldom found, a place on Earth, Sometimes there comes a place of mirth. A place of peace, of judgment free, A place for brother, sister, me!
A place for song, of open arms, Enchanted dream of “people charms”! A music rhythm of the heart, Accepting nature, heaven’s part.
Warmth and care without imposing, Through speeches made, sometimes I’m dozing! Message comes without the preaching, Hearts laid bare, the message teaching.
Love and peace and lots more love, Soulful warmth from God above Laughter, smiles, cherubic ring, People gather, hearts to sing!
A place of God, its nature, being! A place of warmth, of “goodness” seeing! Flowers, friends, “Hellos” that fill, A little chapel, top a hill!
A poetic tribute to St. Paul’s On The Hill By Fred Hiemcke, deceased
